introduced a multimodal service combining trucking and feeder shipping to bypass
the Strait of Hormuz amid the
ongoing crisis, which has disrupted commercial shipping
due to security risks and rising
insurance costs. This hybrid
sea-land-sea model e昀昀ectively
creates a “landbridge” across
Saudi Arabia. Mainline vessels
will sail from European ports to
the Red Sea via the Suez Canal,
calling at Saudi Arabia’s western
ports like Jeddah. Containers
will then travel overland by
truck to Gulf-side hubs such as
Dammam for feeder delivery
across the Persian Gulf. The
service, starting from Antwerp,
ensures Europe-Middle East
trade continuity, offering a
resilient alternative to Hormuz
for shippers facing prolonged
uncertainty.

regulatory approvals and closing conditions. By integrating
Aviapartner Liège’s operations
into its network, the company
aims to enhance operational
efficiency, deepen airline and
customer partnerships, and
reinforce its international
logistics platform.

its new CEIV- and
atar Airways Cargo
has expanded its global
cargo network with the
relaunch of Boeing 777 freighter
services to Vienna and the addition of a second weekly freighter
to Warsaw, further strengthening
capacity across key European
trade corridors. The airline is
signi昀椀cantly scaling both passenger and belly-hold cargo capacity
across multiple global markets,
including Caracas and Bogotá
which are scheduled from July
2026, while services to Helsinki
and Tokyo (Haneda) are set for
relaunch. The carrier is simultaneously increasing frequencies
across major cargo and passenger
gateways spanning Asia, Europe,
the Americas, Africa and the
Middle East, substantially boost-
ing global belly-hold cargo capacity in addition to its scheduled
freighter operations.

to Toronto Pearson Airport

mirates SkyCargo has
launched a weekly
freighter service to
Toronto Pearson Airport, enhancing air cargo links between
Canada and the UAE, supporting bilateral trade. Between
Amsterdam and Toronto, the
freighter 昀氀ight supports main
deck cargo capacity for movement
of pharmaceuticals, perishables
and other manufactured goods
from the EU to Canada. The
freighter service from Toronto
will boost exports of commodities
such as pharmaceuticals, fresh
produce, electronics & components as well as other general
cargo, supporting Canada’s highvalue and time and temperature
sensitive export sectors to Dubai
and other parts of Emirates’
network. The freighter service
complements belly hold capacity
on passenger 昀氀ights, reinforcing
Emirates’ long-term commitment
to Canada.
GDP-certified Pharma Center at
Frankfurt Airport, significantly
expanding its dedicated pharma
handling space to nearly 3,300
sq mt and consolidating all
key pharmaceutical cargo
operations, including receiving,
dispatch, storage, break-down
and pallet reassembly into a
single integrated temperaturecontrolled environment. Constructed over nearly two years
while maintaining uninterrupted
operations, the facility supports
both controlled room temperature storage ranging from 15°C
to 25°C and controlled cool
storage between 2°C and 8°C,
catering to a broad spectrum of
pharmaceutical and healthcare
products. In addition, the centre
includes dedicated powered
storage areas for active containers and loading units, while
also enabling the temperaturecontrolled assembly of full
pallets.
