We are advancing a roadmap to
add 62 vessels in FY 2026–27, backed
by `51,383 crore, creating an
additional 2.85 million GT capacity.
We must act with urgency to
strengthen our fleet, shipbuilding
capacity, port infrastructure, and the
broader maritime ecosystem.
A report prepared by three IITs has
revealed that India’s construction of
expressways and economic corridors
has helped reduce the country’s
logistics cost to 10% from 16% earlier.
Now, I can say with full con昀椀dence
that India’s logistics cost has come
down to 9%.

Indian Railways is transforming
connectivity with nearly 25,000 trains
daily. By commissioning 35 Gati Shakti
Cargo Terminals and loading 1,670
MT of freight past year, we are
significantly improving India’s
multimodal integration and logistics
e昀케ciency.
Supply chains have faced continuous
shocks. In such an environment,
countries must build strong logistics
networks and resilient infrastructure.
We strongly believe in the India story.
We know the assets we are building
and the role they can play in the
country's future.

The commissioning of the jetty at
MMY–Dahej and the successful
dispatch of our first consignment
marks a de昀椀ning milestone. We see
India playing a pivotal role in our
global project delivery network. It is
a proud step forward in advancing
the spirit of ‘Make in India’.
CIAL is evolving into a future-ready
gateway for South India. Through
infrastructure augmentation, digital
cargo management systems and
multimodal integration initiatives,
we aim to deliver seamless freight

We have been able to create a new
record of 50 MT throughput in FY26.
This has only been possible because
of the support and contributions from
all the stakeholders here as well as
the state officials and federal
government agencies. Now we have
set ambitious new cargo targets.
By the end of May, we could start
to see some cancellations in Europe
for lack of jet fuel. This is already
happening in parts of Asia. Along with
doing everything possible to secure
alternative supply lines, authorities
must have well-communicated and
well-coordinated plans in place.
SUSHIL KUMAR SINGH

WILLIE WALSH
Director General, International Air Transport
Association (IATA)
The true network is something you
can pick up in any one part of the
world and get it to any other part of
the world in a couple of days. For
that, you need a system like what we
have here and the networks around
the world. Our 3PL segment is about
a US$2 billion business.
Noida Airport will be the new
gateway for western Uttar Pradesh,
alongside NCR. Large metropolitan
regions of India are maturing to
support multiple airports, and IndiGo
is proud to contribute to this evolution
by serving all three in the NCR - IGI
Airport, Hindon, and now NIA.
