Global Politics, E-Commerce, and
Shifting Traf昀椀c Flows into 2025
We are currently seeing the global political events in昀氀uencing
tra昀케c 昀氀ows, such as the emergence of new sea and air routes.
This trend is expected to continue shaping the landscape
throughout 2025.
E-commerce will continue to be the driving force in air
cargo tra昀케c. We are observing an increasing interest in
direct 昀氀ights to Germany, bringing goods closer to the end
consumer who are based out of the German market rather
than in the Benelux or Eastern Europe regions. This shift
also bene昀椀ts carriers by enabling them to capture exports,
particularly those from Germany, particularly those from
Germany and that too, in large quantities. These export
goods can be loaded directly at corresponding German
airports. The e-commerce boom has already led to a large
number of freighter 昀氀ights being diverted from the North
Atlantic route and being deployed on the Transpaci昀椀c route
or from Asia to Europe. We especially see this trend in
