promising markets in Asia, offering immense
potential for growth and innovation”
Building a Uni昀椀ed Logistics Hub with
a Pan-India Network Ful昀椀ls Samsara’s
Tomorrow Vision
The logistics industry in India is vast, encompassing air, sea,
and land, and it’s essential to bring all players together to drive
its evolution. Customers are becoming increasingly demanding,
as always, which adds to the complexity.
Our key objective is twofold: to reduce costs for our customers
while simultaneously increasing our revenue. Achieving this balance
requires a focus on e昀케cient processes, skilled manpower, and
minimising costs. At the same time, we must ensure that cargo
reaches customers safely, without damage or loss. The future
of logistics will be de昀椀ned by the ability to deliver high-quality
service at lower costs, rather than higher costs, and by creating
a seamless pan-India network.
Focussing solely on one region of India is limiting. We have
an extensive network across the country through Samsara, but
we are now particularly focussing on expanding our reach in the
Northeast. Once that is achieved, the development of new ports
across India will serve as strategic hubs in the East, South, North,
and West. These hubs will be crucial in supporting growth, both
within India and beyond its borders.
Fostering Free Trade through
Collaborative Models between Industry
and Government
Policymakers are making signi昀椀cant progress in understanding
the needs of the sector, but not all bureaucrats align with the
same mindset as the political will driving government initiatives.
The private sector is not a challenge to the government; in fact,
we are here to complement and support the execution of the
policies the government lays down.
The private sector does not aim to replace the role of bureaucrats but rather to work alongside them, following and abiding
by the established rules and regulations. However, the policies
in place should not create frustration or become insurmountable
barriers. For India’s maritime and logistics sectors to grow,
Mukesh Oza discusses the company’s vision for a panIndia logistics network, focussing on efficiency and
cost reduction while ensuring high-quality service.
With strategic expansions in Northeast India and new
ports planned across the country, Samsara aims to
enhance both domestic and international trade. Oza
emphasises the importance of collaborative models
between industry and government, advocating for free
trade policies to unlock India’s logistics sector potential.
He also highlights India’s rising prominence in global
trade, driven by its vast market and growing logistics
infrastructure. By embracing technology, including AI,
all the while maintaining a human touch, Oza offers a
glimpse into Samsara’s strategy to drive the future of
India’s logistics industry, ensuring sustained growth
and long-term success.
