ASSOCHAM Conference unveils critical cold chain
infrastructure enhancements

Conference on 8Scaling Up Cold Chain
Infrastructure for
a Sustainable Food Processing Sector9, held on July 19 at
Hotel Le-Meridien, New Delhi,
highlighted the critical need to
transforming the country9s cold
chain infrastructure which is
essential not only for enhancing
supply chain operations but also
for bridging the gap between
farmers and consumers and
boosting the rural economy.
The event included three
technical sessions where industry leaders and sector experts
addressed pressing challenges
such as food loss and waste, food
security, and opportunities for
improving food product shelf
life. Discussions also covered the
sustainable delivery of perishable goods, the integration of
advanced technologies, and the
need for a structured approach to
attract and sustain investments,
ensuring the long-term viability
of cold chain operations.
