uring her Budget presentation, FM
Sitharaman announced allocating
`11.11 lakh crore towards capital
expenditure (CAPEX). This would
account for 3.4 per cent of the GDP.
Enumerating it as among the policy
prerogatives towards investment in infrastructure
by the Central government, she told the house that
the signiocant investments made in previous years
have triggered a multiplier efect.
Although there has been no change to this allocation level as compared to the interim Budget level of
February this year, the Centre has now reaïrmed
its commitment to oscal support for infrastructure
development for the next ove years.
