he objectives of the
NLP include: (i)
reducing logistics
costs in India, (ii)
improving the Logistics Performance Index ranking
to be among the top 25 countries
by 2030, and (iii) establishing
a data-driven decision support
mechanism for an eïcient logistics ecosystem. To achieve these
goals, the NLP introduced the
Comprehensive Logistics Action
Plan (CLAP), encompassing eight
focal areas from digital integra-

tion to logistics park development
facilitation. These initiatives align
with the principles of the PM
Gati Shakti (PMGS) National
Master Plan (NMP) 14, emphasis-
ing convergence and collective
eforts across departments and
ministries at state and union
territory levels. The PMGS aims
to integrate data into a National
Master Plan and State Master
Plans to streamline logistics
planning under the federal
structure. State and city-level
logistics plans are crucial for
enhancing India9s logistics infrastructure. The CLAP not only
outlines government initiatives
but also promotes a favourable
environment for private sector
participation. It underscores the
government9s commitment to the
sector and provides a blueprint
for developing logistics and
network logistics parks.
