Haldia Bulk Terminal (HBT) on March 14 and
formally dedicated it to the nation. Developed
by Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone, the
terminal is a fully automated bulk facility on the
Hooghly River, designed to handle dry bulk cargo at

Terminal, and delivered within its construction
window. Strategically positioned on western bank
of the Hooghly River, the terminal is equipped
to handle imported coal and a range of dry bulk
commodities.
Hapag-Lloyd and Government of India sign
Letter of Intent on maritime cooperation

container transportation
company and the Government
of India signed a Letter of Intent
(LOI) to deepen maritime cooperation and support the continued
development of India’s shipping
and logistics sector. The LOI was
signed in Mumbai
on the occasion of
a meeting between
Rolf Habben Jansen,
Chief Executive O昀케cer of Hapag-Lloyd,
and Sarbananda
Sonowal, India’s
Minister of Ports, Shipping and
Waterways. As part of the LOI,
Hapag-Lloyd intends to explore
the re昀氀agging of up to four vessels under the Indian registry.
The agreement also includes
cooperation on the development
of a ship recycling ecosystem in
India. In addition, the LOI foresees discussions on a strategic
cooperation framework related
to the development of Vadhavan
Port in collaboration with the
Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority.

development of a stateof-the-art logistics hub in Unnao
along the Ganga Expressway. The

(EPM). Implementation of the
scheme will be undertaken with
an approved financial outlay of
`497 Crores under the Mission.
The intervention is aimed at
supporting Indian exporters
affected by extraordinary
freight escalation, heightened
insurance premia and warrelated export risks arising from
disruptions in the Gulf and wider
West Asia maritime corridor.
The approval of RELIEF reflects
the Government’s commitment
to respond swiftly to external
disruptions affecting India’s
trade flows.
